Creator: Peter Braun | Antiques & Collectibles - 2015-09

The clear photography, structured layout, and lively writing make this book a pleasure to read or just browse.

Publisher: Abbeville Press

About this book
The must-have guide for the collector of mechanical wristwatches. Complete information--including prices--on over 1,400 models made by more than 130 international brands. The eighteenth edition of what has become a classic for afficionados of fine watchmaking once again looks at the developments in the watch industry. In addition to the A-to-Z section, which features many new entries, industry expert Elizabeth Doerr looks at news from the independent watchmakers. Watchmaker Bill Yao, owner of Mk II watches, contributes his expertise on crowns, and senior editor Marton Radkai explores the business side of the industry, the problem of counterfeiting, and profiles watchmaking’s mavericks. Also included are a glossary and a guide to watch maintenance. Wristwatch Annual 2016 presents a broad range of wristwatches with exquisite color photographs and complete specifications for each watch. Collectors have a wealth of information close at hand: the book is arranged alphabetically by producer, and within each producer’s section are a brief history of the brand (with contact information), and specifications and materials for each watch, including price, movement, special features, complications, case, dial, band, and variations. The clear photography, structured layout, and lively writing make this book a pleasure to read or just browse. It is conceived as a handy reference for a broad readership from around the world, from the neophyte to the experienced collector.

The World's Most Expensive Watches

Creator: Ariel Adams | Antiques & Collectibles - 2014-09

The World's Most Expensive Watches presents some of the most extravagant, intricate, collectible, decadent, or just plain interesting modern-day timepieces that sit at the top of the price spectrum.

Publisher: ACC Distribution

About this book
More than a fashion accessory or means to tell the time, the wristwatch has become a statement of identity; politician or celebrity, scientist or sportsman, what you choose to wear on your wrist speaks volumes about who you are. The World's Most Expensive Watches presents some of the most extravagant, intricate, collectible, decadent, or just plain interesting modern-day timepieces that sit at the top of the price spectrum. Starting at a threshold price of about $200,000, it is a trip through the last decade or so of watches whose values soar incredibly to prices of $5 million dollars or more. Additionally, there is a selection of notable watches that yielded extremely high prices at auction - many of which are historically relevant. A stunning collection that is both informative and entertaining; with detailed descriptions of individual watches and articles that usefully deconstruct the price tag with an explanation of the relevance of craftsmanship and complexity of design, as well as the importance of exclusivity, prestige and collectibility. Prepare to be impressed by a larger-than-life-look at some relatively small items that command not only huge prices but kudos and respect, in all areas of a global society fascinated with using accessorizing to create identity.

Great bracelet, looks classy, well built, totally worth the cost!

I love this bracelet, which fits perfectly with my SKX007. It looks great, and feels substantial. Removing links is easy, and I had no issues whatsoever removing any of the screws in any of the links. The clasp is a double locking mechanism, with a pushbutton plus a foldover lock. The clasp is made of a solid piece of machined metal, rather than a thin stamped piece. Additionally, there are three micro adjust holes. I sized my skinny 6 1/4" wrist, no problem.End pieces are solid and match up perfectly with the watch, as if it were made with it.This bracelet also came with two fat double flanged springbars. Note that the tips are 0.9 rather than 1.1mm (which is what comes with an SKX007). Still fits fine without excessive play/movement.Installing the endpieces can be a little tricky - butt the endpiece (with the springbar inside) up against the watch, then use a springbar tool to compress the bars fully on each side until it slides fully in. I've even... 5/5 SKX007 owner (Irvine, CA United States) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Really Makes your Seiko Pop!

I love the looks but the Seiko Jubilee that came with the SKX007 was actually a better fit for me. But, the jubilee didn't really match the rest of the 007 so it'll stay on. I should mention that fitting the Super Oyster was a bit tricky and I'm no stranger to watch's and watch repair. It was tricky due to the quality of the Oyster and the tight tolerances of the end pieces. A word of caution: Just as you think you've landed the second end of the spring bar into the hole on the lug...use your spring bar tool and manipulate it a bit to make sure it did in fact seat. I thought it was but checked and sure enough, I missed it..I had to play with it a bit more to get it to seat.Pro's: Built tough, fit's/looks like it was made for the 007,009, (which it was), and Great looking. Came with 2 heavy duty spring bars.Con's: (for me) Wasn't able to fit it precisely to my wrist which is about 7-7/8in. It was either too loose or too tight even with the fine adjustment on the... 4/5 BrunoP - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Love it but one problem

4/5 Jason - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: 22mm Super Oyster II Watch Bracelet for Seiko Diver Skx007/009/011 Curved End (Watch) I received this bracelet a week ago and I am in love with it. It looks great and gives my SKX009K2 a more elegant look and feel. The only PROBLEM I found was that the screw keeping the link attached kept unscrewing. Just the one closest to the top (12 o'clock). This would NOT stop me from recommending one to a friend. Just do a quick inspection of the bracelet ever so often and keep a flathead near by or on your person., March 31, 2016

Okay, so this is my second Seiko 5. My first is an SNK805. FIRST OFF, don't think that you have to reset the watch everyday. People who don't understand watches are writing these reviews. If you don't have a winder, just shake the watch for 2 minutes at the end of the day. This will give you 30 hours of run time. If you think that's too much work for you, buy a winder or don't buy the watch. Each watch varies on time lost/gained. My SNK805 was at a minute every couple weeks. This watch could be different. These are Asian market watches. They are real Seikos (fakes do exist, but they are very different. ). These do not have the country of origin on the rotor or movement, paper work/warranty card, and usually come in a different box, but these are put into the American market box before being shipped. They would count as "grey market".I hate the bracelet. I've owned the watch for a day, and swapped out out immediately. That's the only reason... 4/5 KWinnX73 - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) 4/5 elmer - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Seiko 5 Men's SNXS75 Automatic Grey Dial Stainless-Steel Bracelet Watch (Watch) I belong a four generation of Seiko 5 lovers, but this was my first brand new buy, since i broke the one my father gave me, at the beginning i was quite skeptic in how a new model would work, but is beyond of what I was expecting, i just have 2 months with it i use it every day, im hard worker, i do building maintenance, and the Cristal i can say resistant to scratches, the color white also gives a very low profile, with out affecting its elegance, the simple design is just what i like has its day and date, and in all this time have been excellent accurate in time, the setting is much more easy than i thought i didn't even use the manual, i receive it in its original seiko box with its written three years guarantee, the price excellent in walk in stores can not be matched, and is hard to find something similar in brand and functions, in general i like it worth what i pay for it. 5/5 Kaveh Kowsari - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Seiko 5 Men's SNXS75 Automatic Grey Dial Stainless-Steel Bracelet Watch (Watch) Absolutely my favorite watch, preferring it to my DateJust. It's gorgeous, chic, understated and smart. The dial is beautiful, sunburst patterning in rich form. I have another Seiko 5 and love the size of the hands and indices with respect to how they fill the space of the dial - it's just effective on every level. The bracelet is cheap but attractive; I don't feel the need to replace it.I wish the lume on the hour markers wasn't as strong as they can look glow-in-the-dark with little effort (sunny day). It's the watch's main fault in my opinion.Amazing, amazing watch. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , November 1, 2016

A Great Watch To Start With

This watch was purchased from E Watches and fulfilled by Amazon. I paid $130.00. My watch arrived one day early and in great shape. The watch came in an authentic Seiko blue box on a white pillow with tags. The watch I received is model SNZG13K1. This is the version manufactured in Malaysia, not in Japan as listed. This is perfectly acceptable. You will likely pay more for the Japanese version (SNZG13J1), even though the movements are exactly the same spec (7s36). Everything checks out good, including the serial number on the case back. This is a "gray market" watch, meaning it does not come with a warranty from Seiko. You will not receive a stamped warranty card from the dealer. That's the only drawback. There are some retailers on Amazon that will tell you they are an authorized Seiko dealer, and include the three year Seiko warranty, but this is most likely untrue. If you're OK with a minimal amount of risk that comes with buying a "gray market" watch then this is a great watch to... 4/5 Average Joe - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Well worth the money.

First, I must say that the images online don't do this piece justice. The lines are clean, movement is smooth and the markings very legible. One thing I will probably do is swap out the band for a black leather band with a clasp. There is nothing wrong with the supplied metal band, other than the clasp being a little stiff at first, but I'm going for a more casual look with this.I was looking for a watch with a clean design and a good automatic movement that'll last and it appears that's exactly what I got. I also looked at similar pieces from Tissot, Hamilton and Weiss when considering this watch. They were all fine offerings as well but prices ran anywhere from $500 to $1000 which is more than I care to spend for a watch that I intend to wear 90% of the time and is probably going to take a beating over the years.A note for potential buyers, this model is manufactured in Malaysia, not Japan.
