    What I got was polyurethane

0 1/5 Douglas Terry "Doug Terry" (Angleton, Texas United States) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Seiko Rubber Watch Band Original 22mm for Divers Model (Watch) My experience with this band seems to be different than other reviewers. The orginal band on my Seiko Aquamatic lasted only a few months. Great watch, lousy band. It was polyurethane and my experience is that polyurethane bands will crack and break. This was advertised as a rubber watch band. Real rubber will last for years though I haven't seen real rubber watch bands lately. I ordered this as a replacement and in a year or so it also cracked and broke. I replaced with with one I made myself from nylon webbing. The Seiko watch on the other hand is a great self winding watch. The one I have is my second one. The first lasted many years of diving and hard wear. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , January 3, 2008

0 3/5 jakul - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Seiko Men's SNQ101 Perpetual Calendar Solid Stainless-Steel Case and Bracelet Black Dial Watch (Watch) This is by far, the nicest watch (look wise) I would have had in my collection. It is classy, and weighty. A very solid timepiece. Well, except for the fact that I owned it for less than 6 hours and the winder fell/pulled out. I have owned cheap watches that I have never had this happen before so you can't imagine how shocked I was to have a Seiko fall apart like this. So far I am willing to chalk this up to a fluke and return this and order another one. I will update in my next review.Second watch arrived and it is working well so far. Amazon issued a full refund without question and shipped the second one before I even got to ship the broken one back. As far as the watch itself, I still like the simple elegance it has and the solid feel of it on my wrist. Still one of the nicer watches in my collection, second only to my Citizen's. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , June 11, 2011

    Beautiful Watch - Excellent Price

I am sorry that the other two reviewers had problems with this watch. I have found it to work flawlessly for me. I bought this watch to use in place of my older Seiko Kinetic. This watch is powered by a battery, the Kinetic by movement. My work does not allow me to wear the Kinetic except for a couple of hours in the evenings. The couple of hours of wear a day is not enough to keep the Kinetic running properly. I have found that it is easier to go to the Jewelry store every couple of years and have the battery replaced by people who know what they are doing and have the proper tools needed. I have two Bulova Marine Stars and now this Seiko that all run on battery. I just accept the cost of battery replacement as the part of owning my watches. Now..back to this Seiko. This watch is much better looking than the pictures. Solid feel, solid weight, that feels great on your wrist. The watch face alone is about the size of a half dollar coin. Face is uncluttered and easy to read. Make sure you know what "perpetual calendar" means, and the battery life

0 5/5 Tiger Vijay (Florida) - See all my reviews This review is from: Seiko Men's SNQ101 Perpetual Calendar Solid Stainless-Steel Case and Bracelet Black Dial Watch (Watch) Just to be clear (because at least one of the customer reviews is misleading):This watch has a 4-year battery life (not a 10-year battery life)."Perpetual calendar" means that once you set the date (which is not a trivial matter if the date has not already been set for you by the dealer), you will never have to set it ever again, as long as you replace the battery before it dies. The date will automatically adjust for short months (like February and April) and for leap years. When the battery gets weak, the second hand will move in 2-second intervals instead of the usual 1-second intervals. That is your cue to get the battery changed before the watch dies, so that the perpetual calendar will continue to keep the date properly with the new battery installed. To see how to operate this watch, look up "caliber 6A32" on the Internet and you will find a pdf manual.By the way--it's a very nice watch for the price. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 7, 2013

a great watch and an icon.

First of all, for those of you that don't know, the Seiko SKX007/009 are essentially the spiritual successor to the Seiko 6xxx diver's watches that were so popular as tool watches in the Vietnam War era. At a glance, it's hard to tell them apart - the main differences being the subtle differences in the case shape and the shape of the indices on the face. The 007 is the current black bezel version, the 009 has the "Pepsi" red/blue bezel for a little added color in your life. It uses a Seiko 7S26 automatic movement which is a decent reliable movement with only a few drawbacks - more on that later. This watch shipped from Amazon's warehouse in Kentucky unlike the comments from some previous reviewers. I've only had this particular watch for a few hours, so I can't speak to the accuracy of this watch in particular, but I've been wearing a Seiko 5 with the same movement for months now and other than it running slightly fast (not unusual for an out of the box mechanical movement that's... 5/5 N8N (inside the beltway USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Why don't you already own this watch?

Intro:In my opinion if you like dive watches, this model is a must have. Dive watches aren't just for diving, they make the best beater watches because they are built extra tough and the Seiko line of dive watches are built extra-extra tough.Watch Model:The watch being reviewed is the SKX009K2 which is the blue dialed pepsi bezel version. There is another model called the SKX007K2 that has a black dial and black bezel. When searching for this watch, you will also see a model SKX175 listed that looks identical to the SKX009. This model number designates the model that was for the American market and the only difference is some of the markings on the case-back.Watch Movement:This model has an automatic movement in it as opposed to a battery operated quartz movement. The automatic movement, known in Rolex circles as "perpetual" has a pendulum and clutch that moves when you move your arm. This is unnoticed by the wearer... 5/5 Shop Bot (Florida, United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Seiko Men's SKX009K2 Diver's Automatic Blue Dial Watch (Watch) Intro:In my opinion if you like dive watches, this model is a must have. Seiko Orange Monster Automatic Dive Watch

Bought the watch from Amazon Sunday evening and it arrived on Thursday evening with the 5-day delivery service. I've had it for a few days and I am extremely happy with it. I also own a Rolex Submariner, Breitling Chronomat, Omega Seamaster Chrono, Citizen Nighthawk, and some assorted Casios and Timexes. This Seiko automatic watch ranks just a hair below the $2000+ Swiss watches, but for under $200, it's an unbelievable value. The quality and workmanship are excellent for a price in this range. For example, the second and minute hands line up exactly with the hash marks; when the second hand hits 12, the minute hand is algined precisely with the minute hash mark. Wow, I've seen $1000 Swiss quartz watches that don't do that. The assembly of all the components look top notch. The rotating bezel has a precision feel and the click-stops align exactly with the hash marks on the dial. The alphanumeric markings, Lumbrite markers, and hands appear of high quality. "Orange Monster" Collectors Watch

Seiko's SKX781 "Orange Monster" is achieving cult status among automatic sports watch collectors and avid SCUBA divers. Along with a similar style in black, Model SKX 779 (Black Monster) and the 300 lucky owners who collected a limited edition "Yellow Monster" some years ago - Seiko has produced a classic sports watch for the ages.Even those who collect automatic sports watches or chronographs that cost into 4 figures view this watch as a MUST HAVE for their collections (along with the Invicta Pro series dive watches). A fine precision instrument

From the moment you first hold this watch in your hand, you realize it is a quality timepiece. The first thing that strikes you is its large size and heavy feel, yet despite that, it feels comfortable on the wrist due to its fine balance.BRACELET:The bracelet end links (those that attach to the watch case) are solid rather than formed sheet metal like you will find on most other watches in this price range. The pins holding the bracelet to the watch are the sturdiest I have ever seen. Each of the bracelet's subsequent links is also made from a solid piece of steel, not folded sheet, each component being feather-edged to prevent it digging into the wrist. Its removable link pins are of an unusual machined pin and collar design which, though fiddly to remove and replace, nevertheless ensure that the pins remain under-flush and secure when correctly installed. The bracelet is perfectly flush on the side that contacts your wrist making it feel very smooth during... 5/5 Andy Apple (Phoenix, AZ USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Seiko Men's SKX781 "Orange Monster" Automatic Dive Watch (Watch) From the moment you first hold this watch in your hand, you realize it is a quality timepiece. Seiko Quality

I received this watch in a timely manner and was happy with it from the start. It was packaged in a factory box with all the proper documentation. It appears to be worth much more than $99 and had a tag on it showing $295 pricing. An inspection of the watch showed no flaws. I read the instructions, did a hand charging by shaking it back-and-forth as per the directions. After some minutes it showed appx. 3 days charge. I set the day, date and time and frankly have never looked back. It shows a full 6-month charge after wearinging it just once and continues to show that each time I wear it and check. It is really a handsome looking watch with nice shine and tones in the bezel and band. The face is blue but in lower light doesn't show that to strongly. I am very satisfied with the purchase, a complement to my Citizen Eco and Tissot PRS200 for dress watches. The size, weight and look are great.I would say that anyone would be satisfied with this watch and its Kinetic features. 0 4/5 Nick Diaz (San Francisco, CA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Seiko Men's SMY111 Stainless Steel Kinetic Watch (Watch) Another reviewer remarked that the character of a watch is determined by its complications, a sentiment I agree with after owning a Seiko Kinetic. This watch is very accurate: I notice a slight variance because I sync all my watches monthly to Fort Collins, but for the average guy this ought not be a major issue. The stainless steel case and bracelet give it a comfortable heft, and looks great as a casual, active, or dressy affair. An all-around great buy. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , June 29, 2011

This review is from: Seiko Men's SMY111 Stainless Steel Kinetic Watch (Watch) The Seiko SMY111 has turned out to be a great looking and very accurate watch. I followed the instructions to get it up and running and do the initial time set. I had to remove a link to make it fit a little more tightly and it was easy to accomplish using a push pin to remove the two pins. So far no problems at all and the time is dead on after the first week. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , November 9, 2012
