Very good looking--better than on Amazon web site. I let charge for one day in a sunny window and it has been dead on ever since. I found the instructions for all the functions easy to understand. Satisfied but not completely

I bought a similar Seiko 5 watch for my father when I was in Dubai International Airport from the local gift shop. I paid 67 dollars for it and I was so impressed by the quality of the fit and finish that I wanted to buy one for myself whenever I would get the chance. Mind this, I wore it around town and I banged my wrist into doors or walls since I am a little clumsy. But my father's watch was a champ and didn't have any scratches on it. I have to add this fact that my father's watch was made in Japan and it was written everywhere; on the winding wheel, on the the clasp and also on the dial. So, when I bought this watch from Amazon I was expecting a similar quality even though I knew this wasn't made in Japan. The example I received is very beautiful and well made. But the links and the metal aren't of the same caliber of my father's watch. It scratches very easily even though I didn't bang into anything. Plus the winding wheel has this smudged ink on the side of it. Its... 4/5 M. Hossain (NY USA) - See all my reviews, August 14, 2008

    Seiko's Automatic For The People

There is no question that when it has came down to watches, Seiko has been the leader at making definitive watches for all ages young and old, male and female. Yet, many people have often overlooked the Seiko 5 automatic watch line, while everyone has savored their traditional quartz, Cotura chronographs, Seiko Solar, and their Kinetic rechargeable quartz battery watches. But there are still automatic watches that handle well. This Seiko 5 SNK789 watch handles mostly well, with a simple and elegant design that is simple and contemporary. Yet, there are a few flaws on the watch. The first is that is has a lower water resistance level than advertised. It only has 30 Meters (100 Feet) of water resistance, not 100 Meters of water protection (330 Feet as advertised on Amazon.) The second one is that it can be very rough to pull out the crown to reset the time than most other Seiko watches. Still, you do get mostly well a nicely showcased and simple silvertoned watch for its price. I just... 4/5 Michael Kerner "Michael Kerner" (Brooklyn, New York U.S.A.) - See all my reviews, February 9, 2012

    Couldn't be better!

I purchased this watch for my father for his birthday. He likes simple yet attractive watches. This watch certainly is that. I was very impressed with the finish of the watch. One review stated that this watch was too shiny and all polished stainless. This is not true. This watch has a very nice brushed stainless finish with nice polished accents. The size of the watch is perfect for my father. He has a very small wrist and after removing four links the watch fit perfectly. I must add that sizing this watch was a snap. The pins were very easily removed. This watch is very light. I sort of expected this automatic to be heavier. I was pleasantly surprised how light the band and watch are. The clear window on the back of the watch is a nice touch. It's pretty cool to see the movement as you can. Another reviewer stated that the watch did not come with instructions. It does... Excellent value for a set-it-and-forget-it 200M Divers watch

All my other divers are automatics, and through the process of rotating them out every day or two, they often run down. Wanted at least one relatively inexpensive battery-powered watch that still retained a good level of quality but didn't skimp on the features. The good:-Actual 200M Divers watch; if you'r familiar with Seiko at all, you know that this designation means that these watches are actual, ISO-compliant diver watches, it's not just a marketing term.-Great lume. As with most Seiko divers, the lume is excellent. Nicer still is that the lume paint color is white on this model as opposed to the more common greenish tint. (It of course still glows green.) The white contrasts nicely with the black dial for a fairly dress appearance.-Fit and finish are typical Seiko which is to say very good.-Bezel action is superb, not too tight, not too loose, but manages to feel both positive and smooth.-Screw down crown operates easily, does not... 5/5 wes_mantooth - See all my reviews This review is from: Seiko Men's SNE107 Stainless Steel Watch with Link Bracelet (Watch) All my other divers are automatics, and through the process of rotating them out every day or two, they often run down. very good watch

0 5/5 Mp (new york, ny United States) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Seiko Men's SNE107 Stainless Steel Watch with Link Bracelet (Watch) This will pass as a fine dress watch. It looks really nice and elegant while it clearly suggests that it's a function oriented watch: solar, dive watch to 200m, bezel, diver's extension bracelet, simple design..., etc. I took out three links to make it fit my wrist. The s.s. bracelet is very comfortable. I will be test driving it as a dive watch next two weeks, and I will report back how it fared under water. I like that I will never have to wind or change the battery to keep it working!Report: (Jan.20,2012)I went open water diving with it for 6 days straight to maximum depth of about 20 meters for 3-4 hours daily. It worked out great. Easy to read under water and didn't have any water or moisture problems. Just rinse the salt water off it after use with other diving equipment and that was easy. Also, the lume is so good, I can read the time without turning on the lights in the middle of the night.I recommend it. it's a fun watch to own. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , January 6, 2012

    Typical Seiko High Quality

It's nice to see Seiko getting into the solar market. Battery changing can be a hassle when you own as many watches as I do and can get to be expensive. My first impression of the watch when I picked it up was that the bracelet seemed a bit light and not as sturdy as the bracelet on other Seiko watches that I own. It is also not as wide as I like on a watch that has a 42-43mm case. It is a 20mm bracelet and I think a 22mm with a less "tinny" feel to it would have looked and felt much better. That is the only reason I rate it 4 stars instead of 5. Many might expect a heftier, bigger bracelet on a watch this size. The second thing I noticed was the incredibly beautiful black color of the dial. It's sort of a black matte-sunray dial (if that makes any sense). I am a fan of pure black dials and this one is just beautiful. On other solar watches that I own, I can slightly see through the dial and into the solar panel but not on this one. It's completely black... 4/5 Ticktocker (Washington State) - See all my reviews This review is from: Seiko Men's SNE107 Stainless Steel Watch with Link Bracelet (Watch) It's nice to see Seiko getting into the solar market. outstanding!

I've owned mostly Seiko's since 1971 when I bought my first one in Hong Kong. It was an automatic and lasted 5 years, till I dropped it. My latest did the same. This titanium is the best of them all. Light, clean, accurate, and prety thin. Very easy to read in bad light with these tired eyes. To take out a link on the band, all you need is an ice pick or similar. Undo the band pin, and put the watch on a towel. Put the tip of the pick in the depression, and push hard following the arrows on the band. It will come out slowly, and you can snatch it out. After that, put it back together, and adjust the fine tune using the holes in the clasp. Not too hard if you're strong enough.I normally don't buy battery watches because I hate to get a new battery and all the hassle. With this 5 year life, though, it should be ok. The increased accuracy, thinness, and reduced weight, makes it worth it to me. BTW, titanium is much tougher than SS, and won't scratch as easily. It looks... 5/5 Mr. Majestik "Aviator" (Bakersfield, CA United States) - See all my reviews I've owned mostly Seiko's since 1971 when I bought my first one in Hong Kong. 0 5/5 sportyrider "sportyrider" - See all my reviews I bought this watch at an auction site and when it was delivered I thought the box was empty because the watch is so lightweight. I own many watches, including a Kinetic Seiko, and this titanium beauty ranks near the top. Only my Rolex Datejust is nicer looking than this timepiece. It is very easy to set the day, date and time and the accuracy is unbeatable. I highly suggest this watch for you or to buy as a gift.
