    Decent Entry Level Automatic

This is a nice little entry level automatic watch. Upon opening the box it came in the first thing I noticed was the size of the watch itself and the band. The watch itself is somewhat small but not too bad. its slightly larger than a quarter. The band however is much smaller than I expected. I have tiny wrists so It doesn't bother me too much but someone with a larger wrist may find it odd looking; it's really just preference and shouldn't make or break the deal as the band can easily be swapped out. The watch has a nice heavy weight to it and doesn't feel cheap like some other larger automatics I have. One strange thing I noticed right away when I picked up my watch was that the weight that spins the mainspring slides against the interior of the watch as I move it. So I can feel the weight as it moves around. This doesn't bother me but I hope its normal and doesn't mean I got a faulty watch. Everything is working fine at the moment (I've only been wearing it for a day) and I see no... 4/5 JT (Long Island, NY USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Great watch, but the WR30M could be an issue for some ...

Seiko offers two similar versions of a mechanical "military" watch:The SNK809 (which is black, but there are other colors). This has a 21 jewel movement (generally the 7S26B, but the earlier models have the 7S26). It has a 36mm case (excluding the crown) and18mm wide band. The other model is the lager SNZG15 (which is black, but there are other colors). This has a 23 jewel movement (generally the 7S36B, but earlier models have the 7S36). It has a 40mm case (excluding crown) and an 22mm band. Both of these watches are gray market. You won't see them for sale in US stores.I've owned my SNK809 for several months and love it. Its very accurate for the price. Mine gains about 5 sec/day. You'll have to spend a lot of money to do better than that in the mechanical watch world. Two of my friends own the SNZG15, and they seem to gain about 10 sec/day. Note: The fact the SNZG15 has 23 jewels doesn't mean its more accurate than a 21 jewel... 5/5 Lonchodomas (La Mesa, CA) - See all my reviews Seiko offers two similar versions of a mechanical "military" watch:The SNK809 (which is black, but there are other colors). Excellent value, good timekeeper

I purchased this watch as my first foray into mechanical watches, knowing that it was a budget watch with excellent credentials, and calibrating my expectations to this. I have not been disappointed.First things first, this watch is NOT a Japanese movement, and buyers should not expect a Japanese movement, regardless of what Amazon's description may say; I did not, at this price point. The movement is designed by Seiko in Japan, but produced in Malaysia, and the markings on the watch clearly indicate this. I have contacted Amazon about this, but they do not seem to show any interest in correcting their ad copy. Caveat emptor. The movement in this watch as purchased in January of 2012 is a 7S26C.I have been tracking the accuracy of the watch I received for about 50 days now, taking the time once a day from both the watch and a clock disciplined by the time signal transmitted by the observatory in Boulder, CO. The long-term accuracy is excellent,... 4/5 Ethan Blanton - See all my reviews, March 12, 2012

0 3/5 applegeek - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Seiko Men's SKS415 Amazon Exclusive Stainless Steel Watch with Link Bracelet (Watch) I was looking for a stylish summer watch with a pop of color. This is a very sharp looking, with good weight, from a quality manufacturer. The problem is, the band is cheap, and will snag and pull your wrist hair. I was not a fan of this feature. After wearing this for a few days I couldn't take it any more and sent it back. If you don't mind grabbing a new band for this watch, it will serve you well and look nice. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 3, 2014

This review is from: Seiko Men's SKS415 Amazon Exclusive Stainless Steel Watch with Link Bracelet (Watch) I own 8 or 9 Seiko watches and I liked the color combination of the orange and gray dial. I would not consider this a high end Seiko watch as the bezel does not rotate and it is a fairly simple piece, but it was priced right and works as it should. No complaints. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 6, 2014

Seiko hit the target with this model for me. 5 stars all the way...

I begin this review with my personal preference for a watch as a reflection of why I purchased this particular watch. The watch has to be subtle (not flashy like LOOK-AT-ME! ARE YOU LOOKING?), is consistent with timekeeping, has chronograph functions, displays some form of contrasting color scheme for my visual perception, and affordable (under $250) with the features it can offer. This watch met my preference.Absolutely a great watch for both everyday wear and special-night-out wear. The design of the watch is very strikingly masculine yet subtle, unlike the flashy watches with huge faces nowadays. I'm glad the affordable brands such as Seiko, Citizen, Timex, and Casio are still following the traditional route and not too caught up with extreme fashion trends.Functionality, this watch is very versatile as it has ways to help you calculate and estimate measurements such as basic math to unit conversions. Pilot approved.

I'm a pilot, and I love this watch. The white numbers on a black watch face/bezel with red accents really makes this watch stand out. The E6B bezel rotates smoothly, but firmly and does not move easily once set (good thing). The numbers are small, but they are clearly legible due to the fact that they contrast nicely against the black face. This makes calculating Dist./Time/Fuel burn calculations quick and easy. This watch is very well made and looks/feels more expensive than $200. The chronograph is accurate and responsive and ticks about five times a second which makes it look like it's counting smoothly, as opposed to having it tick every second. The actual watch face is depressed into the watch and is lower than the hands, as well as the inner and outer bezel rings. It looks great. The setup was simple and the instructions were clear. I had to charge the watch out of the package, but after a day in the sun, it was ready to go and I have not seen the low... 5/5 Junstar - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Nice but a couple things

I ordered this watch over the SSC009 because the SSC007 (this watch) claims to have a screw down crown. It does NOT have this. The description of the SSC009 didn't say anything about a screw down crown so I figured either they both have it or neither. Turns out neither have it. Not a huge deal, but I'm around water a lot and swim, apt to snorkel, and shower with my watches on so want them to be fairly waterproof. I've a couple dive watches that are also 100m rated (330') and have never had a problem with leakage, but they also have screw down crowns. The other thing I didn't like was the red color for the labels on the outside dial (e.g., Fuel Lbs, Oil Lbs, etc.) I'm 49 and vision is what it is (I wear glasses) but I found it very difficult to read the red.I ended up returning this watch and getting the SSC009 (same watch but with white labels and white sweep hand with red tip). Doesn't have the screw down crown but I find it much easier to read than this... 3/5 Dr.J - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Good Automatic Watch

The Amazon photo does not do this watch justice. This is a very good looking watch.I've never been very gentle with my watches, I put a watch on, and it stays on my wrist until it breaks or needs a new battery. In the case of this watch, I figure that a watch that is rated as safe to 90 feet, should be able to stand up to a shower in Phoenix. The watch only lost about a minute and a half a month, which is fine by me, I'm not using it to time track and field.I ordered this watch about two months ago, and received it within ten days from a company named MR Watch. The watch came without owners manual and warranty forms. When I contacted Mr Watch I was directed to Seiko's website for info on the watch, but they didn't address the warranty issue.Because I didn't have an owners manual, I was on my own trying to remove links from the band. Great watch with a few small flaws.

AppearanceI wanted a self-powered watch, but there are a lot of those. I bought this one because it was one of the best-looking. It's a very flexible piece of hardware: it's not too large or too small, looks nice with jeans or slacks, and is altogether a simple and classic everyday watch, a subtle accent for almost any outfit. The one unpleasant surprise in this department was how shiny the thing is. It's not clear from Amazon's picture, but almost every surface except for the bracelet is practically mirrored. The markers, the ring around the case, the hands--they GLEAM. It makes the watch a little more eye-catching than I'd thought.Solar powerThe guts of this particular watch--the Seiko V158 caliber, if you're curious--have a 10 month power reserve after a single day's exposure to strong sunlight. . . . very elegant looking watch !

0 5/5 Rivman (Downtown Stittsville, Ontario) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Seiko Men's SNE039 Stainless Steel Solar Watch (Watch) I purchased this particular Seiko watch after perusing the many, many watches available on Amazon.com. This watch is nicely finished with a shiny chrome bezel surrounding the clearly marked black dial, and a satin sheen, silver link type adjustible band, with a pinch type locking clasp. It is solar powered and will run for 10 months after a full single charge, eliminating the need to replace watch batteries. It has a clearly visible, contrasting white, adjustable, day and date readout on the crown side of the watch. The case diameter is not too big, quite slim, and not bulky on the wrist. Best of all, the purchase price of this nice looking watch was very reasonable, with no delivery charges. If your looking for a simple watch that looks quite elegant, keeps accurate time, and won't break the budget - this may be the watch for you ! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , June 10, 2011

    Great Watchband

0 5/5 beppok - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Seiko Jubilee-Style (22mm, Stainless Steel) (Watch) I bought a Seiko dive watch which came with a rubber band. A nice enough band but it seems I always need a hole right between where two of the holes are placed causing a buckle type band to be either too tight or too loose. I actually prefer a stainless band and this one fills the bill. It is stylish, by my definition, and well built. The best thing about it is that it is pliable. It isn't stiff and it moves with my wrist and hand. The biggest question for me when I purchase something is, would I buy it again or would I look for something else? My answer, I would buy it again. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 8, 2013

0 5/5 Beach Boy 9999 - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Seiko Jubilee-Style (22mm, Stainless Steel) (Watch) I ordered this bracelet to upgrade my Seiko SKX007J which had the rubber strap. This original Seiko bracelet exceeded my expectations as I was worried it might be too weak for this heavy watch. I was wrong. The links are strong and do not bend. The end links fit perfectly between the lugs. You might have to slightly bend the bottom side so that they don't rattle. Two original spring bars were included too! Oh, the clasp does not have a wet suit extension. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , April 11, 2013

    Worth every penny!

0 5/5 Brady "Orion" - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Seiko Jubilee-Style (22mm, Stainless Steel) (Watch) this bracelet is beautiful and high quality, I put it on a Casio diver that I had. MDV-106, it came on a cheap black plastic strap, I put this Jubilee on it, and it looks like a much more expensive watch now! 0, November 26, 2014
