    Lightweight, durable, versatile

I have owned this watch for nearly five years. I purchased this timepiece for everyday use and versatility in occasion. That said, I tend more towards a simple, classy watch rather than the (supposedly) more masculine monstrosities with all manner of dials, buttons, and attendant bulk. To me, this is unnecessary and destroys the timeless elegance of the simple wristwatch. So, the following review is written from that perspective.Initially, and most importantly, the Japanese movement is very accurate, and I have never have to adjust the time. When the battery was nearly dead (lasted about 3.5 years) the watch quickly stopped, and did not have a prolonged death which I have experienced with other watches where the movement slows gradually and renders the time frustratingly inaccurate. The replacement battery was cheap: $7 at my local watch repair place. I have medium length arm hair and was concerned about wearing a watch with a metal band, but the construction of the band... 5/5 Griffin Klema (Miami, FL) - See all my reviews, November 24, 2010

    Classy and super-light!

0 5/5 clinician (Texas) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This Seiko Titanium watch is simple, classy, elegant and the lightest watch I have ever tried out. The titanium casing and titanium bracelet make for a deceptively and amazing light watch. Seiko Orange Monster Automatic Dive Watch

Bought the watch from Amazon Sunday evening and it arrived on Thursday evening with the 5-day delivery service. I've had it for a few days and I am extremely happy with it. I also own a Rolex Submariner, Breitling Chronomat, Omega Seamaster Chrono, Citizen Nighthawk, and some assorted Casios and Timexes. This Seiko automatic watch ranks just a hair below the $2000+ Swiss watches, but for under $200, it's an unbelievable value. The quality and workmanship are excellent for a price in this range. For example, the second and minute hands line up exactly with the hash marks; when the second hand hits 12, the minute hand is algined precisely with the minute hash mark. Wow, I've seen $1000 Swiss quartz watches that don't do that. The assembly of all the components look top notch. The rotating bezel has a precision feel and the click-stops align exactly with the hash marks on the dial. The alphanumeric markings, Lumbrite markers, and hands appear of high quality. Seiko's cost savings... 5/5 Shaka Zulu (Los Angeles CA USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) "Orange Monster" Collectors Watch

Seiko's SKX781 "Orange Monster" is achieving cult status among automatic sports watch collectors and avid SCUBA divers. Along with a similar style in black, Model SKX 779 (Black Monster) and the 300 lucky owners who collected a limited edition "Yellow Monster" some years ago - Seiko has produced a classic sports watch for the ages.Even those who collect automatic sports watches or chronographs that cost into 4 figures view this watch as a MUST HAVE for their collections (along with the Invicta Pro series dive watches). Like my commuter car Toyota RAV4 - a "beater" for everyday travel to the office - a "beater" watch with style, elegance, color and practicality for $200 or less is a rare find. This is a watch that makes a clear statement on your wrist! As an avid SCUBA diver - a water resistant watch to 660 feet is almost a standard when looking for dive watch purchase features. When the stainless steel band has a triple lock, a deployment clasp for wetsuit,... 4/5 Michael Horn "mikie" (US Army Korea) - See all my reviews, June 14, 2005

    A fine precision instrument

From the moment you first hold this watch in your hand, you realize it is a quality timepiece. The first thing that strikes you is its large size and heavy feel, yet despite that, it feels comfortable on the wrist due to its fine balance.BRACELET:The bracelet end links (those that attach to the watch case) are solid rather than formed sheet metal like you will find on most other watches in this price range. The pins holding the bracelet to the watch are the sturdiest I have ever seen. Each of the bracelet's subsequent links is also made from a solid piece of steel, not folded sheet, each component being feather-edged to prevent it digging into the wrist. Its removable link pins are of an unusual machined pin and collar design which, though fiddly to remove and replace, nevertheless ensure that the pins remain under-flush and secure when correctly installed. The bracelet is perfectly flush on the side that contacts your wrist making it feel very smooth during... 5/5 Andy Apple (Phoenix, AZ USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Seiko Men's SKX781 "Orange Monster" Automatic Dive Watch (Watch) From the moment you first hold this watch in your hand, you realize it is a quality timepiece. Elegant, rugged and awesome watch

0 5/5 Officer Crabtree (St Louis, MO) - See all my reviews This review is from: Seiko Men's SKA413 "Adventure" Stainless Steel Kinetic Diver Watch (Watch) I was looking for a diver watch, and didn't really get a great sense for the products out there. Invicta was one brand I had purchased, and i was quite unhappy with the quality (the bezel was hard to turn, the crown was clunky). Anyhow, with few reviews of this Kinetic Diver, I decided to bite the bullet and buy it.IT has been the best watch purchase i've made. This is a quality, rugged and elegant piece. It is so resilient, that inspite of bumping it around - it has not one scratch! The bezel moves like silk, and the fact that its kinetic adds to the cool factor. The rubber/polyurethane strap is extremely comfortable and supple (unlike other rubber straps I've seen). This is a great watch to have - especially if you like divers. the only gripe i have is that Seiko doesnt seem to have great accessories (So i am having a hard time finding a steel bracelet for it to swap out). 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , June 12, 2009

Seiko SGG729 is a great watch

0 4/5 Jpful - See all my reviews This review is from: Seiko Men's SGG729 Titanium Bracelet Watch (Watch) I've had the Seiko SGG729P1 watch for about 10months now- and I am completely satisfied with it!I think there may be some slight variations in the models- so my review is strictly limited to the SGG729P1.It is great because:- It's light- The sapphire crystal is scratch proof- The dark blue dial and the silver hour markers pick up the light and shine beautifully- The clasp is secure- It's easy to change the time & date- The watch keeps time perfectly- Day and date are easy to readI would have given the watch 5/5 without any hesitation, if not for the fact that the titanium bracelet does pick up scratches more easily than a traditional stainless bracelet. So, i'd say a 4.5/5. great watch! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , November 19, 2011

    Lightweight Stylish & Accurate

After owning this watch for over 9 months, I can confidently say that it is a well constructed and very accurate time-piece. The band is comfortable for all-day wear, and the double latch clasp has always stayed secure during everyday work and casual use. Titanium construction was one of the most important features I searched for when I purchased this watch. I learned years ago that titanium watches are half the weight of similar stainless steel models, and have very good durability and comfort. This watch fits that criteria, along with a stylish dark-blue face design that works well for everyday and dress wear. The only difficulty I had initially, was removing a couple of links from the band for fit. It certainly helps to have a watchband pin remover tool, which can be purchased from Amazon for less than 5 dollars. Having this device can eliminate a lot of frustration, and/or a trip to a local jeweler for band adjustments. I can certainly recommend... 5/5 J. Simple, tasteful, accurate

And a super value for the price. All the Seiko 5 watches use an accurate and reliable HH:mm:ss, day:date movement. This one is elegant and unpretentious, and suitable for any occasion.Let's get the shortcomings over with; that is the smallest part of this review.-This watch is one rated for 30m, which generally means it's OK to shower in it, but not to swim with it. Normally, I like a watch that is 50m or more water resistant, both for the water resistance, and for the implied shock resistance. On the other hand, I haven't seen any problems with water or shock resistence. Now what's right with it. (Pretty much everything.)-Appearence. Classy. Small, smooth, simple. A very refined appearance for office or formal occasions, but without pretension. The red sweep hand is the only highlight, and balances the austerity of the rest of the watch.-Functionality. HH:mm:ss, day and date, and markings for an appropriate degree of precision for... 5/5 E. M. Van Court "Van" (Alexandria, Virginia) - See all my reviews, September 10, 2010

    Seiko semi-automatic watch

0 3/5 Anne E. Lehan - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) I got this watch because I have been having trouble getting batteries replaced on other watches and the idea of a customer-serviceable battery doesn't seem to have occurred to the watch makers (anyone out there listening?).It is a handsome watch but the band was not at all trivial to adjust to size. Thank goodness for Google and a nice fellow who shared his secrets with the rest of us. There were NO instructions in the manual on this.I have to say for a Seiko it doesn't keep very good time. It is not clear to me if this is because it never is wound fully (I only wear it 8-10 hours/day) but I suspect not. It loses about 5 minutes every 2-3 days. It takes 2 seconds to reset but I was hoping for better from Seiko. Still, a watch that is good to +/- 2 minutes is better than a stopped one. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , March 16, 2011
